Process:

This project is backed by rigorous research aimed at scientifically validating VR's effectiveness as a dentistry training tool. Using grant-funded equipment, an interactive clinical environment featuring patient avatars, dental personnel, and medical equipment consistent with a real-world dental office was developed.

Highlights & Milestones:

The opportunity to 3D model real emergency medical equipment, adds a layer of authenticity to the experience. I also collaborated closely with a simulation expert to fine-tune the app's algorithm and event sequence.

Outcome:

The dental VR app serves as a cost-effective and easily distributed simulation training solution, accessible from remote locations. This application is already being used to help save lives in educational settings. The project is currently under research for its efficacy in dental education.

Future Improvements:

Ongoing scientific research to validate the impact of this VR-based training method on dental education.
